Never mind, I just checked and the site has been down this week-end. Paul had gone boating on his "James Bond" style catamaran canoe and did not know there was an issue until he got back. The site is back up and running smoothly.

Hey guys,
I was in the LIttle Canada Hub Hobby today and noticed that they now carry the full line of Vallejo Acrylics Model Color and Model Air. They even have the new acrylic primers in the different base colors. Nice to finally have another option to purchase these besides The Source.

Hey, I won the Tristar Pz IVD in the raffle, it was started, but the main problem is the instructions were missing. I could probably build it without, , I do have some experience, but those kits are intricate, and instructions would make it easier, so could someone come up with a set, or xerox one?

Took up the offer to display some models at Village Games in Anoka. What a drive for me. Met Dan Hobot one of the co-owners and he was really excited to display work from the members. I asked him if we could promote the club along with displaying the models and he seemed that would be an OK deal. He is also looking for modelers to do commissioned work using what he can get at the store. Seemed he wanted to promote store credit but was open to paying for the work. He eventually wanted to give the commissioned pieces away as prizes for contests and such. He also wanted to promote the store for events and a place to paint or give modeling demos.Small gaming shop and Dan was a very pleasant person. Could be a good promotion for the club and members. With S St Paul doing some big budget cuts we may be having to look for a new meeting venue. Should we be proactive and look for a new place now or sit tight and wait to see what transpires? In about 2 weeks we have our Nov meeting. Give it some thought.

Chip has talked to Glenn at Fleming and Glenn does not foresee any near term changes, but said it would be good to send our rental check right away so we're set for 2011 and on the facility calendar.
I did plot out the members on a map and determined that a central location for those in the farthest outlying areas (Shakopee, Prior Lake, **** Rapid, Lake Elmo, Cottage Grove, Burnsville) would be just south of downtown Minneapolis. This would be a 15 to 16 mile drive for those living in those areas. The arcs basically converge around the MSP airport for those on the south side; Hwy 100 and 394 for the north west; and I94 and 280 on the north east.
If we needed to look for new space, the Ft Snelling Museum would be worth checking out or anything along 494 and near the airport/MoA. I'm not familiar with the northern parts of town, maybe there are VFW posts in those areas?

I am taking an educated guess, based on fears at the time, but I think you are correct in your supposition that the rear-most stencils are possibly shipping markings. I belive the forward side stencil is a poison gas "detection patch" and instructions not to wash or remove.

From the reading I've done so far, Company D was equipped with M5 Stuarts both in training and upon arrival in the ETO in October of '44. They were known as "Dog Company" or the "Mosquito Fleet".
